Consultations

What To Expect From Your Consultation

15 Minute Consults

At Higham Vets we work on an appointment basis and allow 15 minutes for each routine consultation.

See 'Your' Vet

We register clients to a specific vet to ensure continuity of care, and so that you can form a bond with your own dedicated vet. You, of course, choose your vet.

A Friendly Welcome

As soon as you walk through the door you will be greeted with a smile by our friendly reception team and your vet.

Separate Dog & Cat Waiting Areas

We will check you in and direct you to either the cat and small furry or dog waiting area, until you are ready to be seen.

Thorough Health Check

Your vet will introduce themselves before spending time discussing your pet’s individual case and performing a full health check (included at routine vaccine boosters). This will involve your vet checking:

Eyes and ears

Mouth and teeth

Lymph nodes

Heart and lungs

Abdomen

Skin

additional checks if necessary, such as a temperature check, depending on the problem and symptons your pet displays.

Making Sure You Are Equipped With All The Information You Need

After the examination, your vet will advise you as necessary in terms of a diagnostic and treatment plan that is catered to you and your pet. You will be offered the full range of options with estimated costs. Please ask as many questions as you have. Very often the simple questions are the most important and we strongly believe our clients should have a full and complete understanding of the health of their loved ones.

Know & Trust Our Team

Ensuring both you and your pet have an enjoyable consult experience is hugely important to us at Higham Vets, and as a team we are all here to provide a caring, friendly, professional yet informal service.

Always Contactable

Should you remember something important or have further questions once you have left remember you can reach us either via Facebook or via ‘Ask Your Vet’ email.
